Moral Shifts:
- Animals, will sound like eating babies
- Social Media / Privacy Morality
- Attractiveness Discrimination
- Heightism
- Cosmetic Surgery being acceptable - people should look the way they want to look
- People born attracted to children who don’t act on their impulses are heroes, should be lionized
- Software rights (Intelligent / Emotional / Conscious software)
- Plant Rights
- Genetic Improvement as morally compulsory
- Cloning becoming acceptable
- Anti-Tribalism
- Expansion of the tribe to be all-inclusive
- Allowing bad or abusive parents to raise children
- Capitalism / consumerism as evil (even relative to embracing scarcity)
- Uncreative work at scale
- Right to attention
- Right to time
- Wage Slavery
Two interesting questions here:
- What are the genuinely likely changes? What features predict moral shifts?
- Which changes are generalizations of my own moral views that currently feel invalidated?
Thought: Ask this question as a getting to know somebody step… much like anitvalues, it elicits core beliefs that distinguish them from the society, and so are important to their identity.
