other olympiads & math competitions

competitions i haven't done but are worth knowing about.

• USACO — USA Computing Olympiad. programming contest, monthly online rounds, leads to IOI team. the CS equivalent of AMC→AIME→USAMO.
• Putnam Competition — college-level math, notoriously hard. good to know exists even if you're not there yet.
• ARML — team math relay + power round. regional teams compete nationally.
• Math Kangaroo — international, various grade levels, more accessible than AMC.
• Purple Comet Math Meet — online, team-based, middle/high school.
• Caribou Contests — monthly online math, international.
• Mu Alpha Theta Mathematical Minutes Video Contest — make a 2-5 min math video explaining a concept.
• NACLO — computational linguistics olympiad. i actually did this one — see competitions-hackathons.
